The Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) is inviting the community to participate in the next phase of its Long-Range Facilities Master Plan. VUSD is providing transparent, easy-to-navigate information – including videos, enrollment projections, funding details, and proposed long-term solutions – to help the community understand the challenges and opportunities ahead for school facilities across the district.

The Visalia Unified School District welcomed over 100 community members at Houston Elementary for its annual State of the District event on November 6, 2025, celebrating 60 years of unification and shared commitment to student growth.

A new tradition continues to grow at Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) under the leadership of Superintendent Shrum. Today, the Superintendent’s Student Advisory convened for its first meeting of the year, bringing together nearly 150 students representing all 42 VUSD schools to share their thoughts, experiences, and feedback directly with district leadership.

Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) has been honored with the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Golden Bell Award for its innovative Blended and Non-Blended Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) Program, a model that is redefining early learning for students across the district.
